Gayle Zialcita, a textile artist. is the author of the technical section which features the basic aspects of weaving--the parts of a floor loom, the tools needed, setting up the loom, and methods of weaving various- designs. Graphs and diagrams illustrated by Amihan Lim, also a textile artist, serve as-visual guides.

Dr. Norma Respicio, a leading autbority on Philippine textiles presents a sketch of the distinct textiles and weaving methods of a select number of communities. By no means exhaustive, this part of the book aspires to open the world of Philippine weaves to the reader There is so much more out there to discover and this book aims to inspire all who read it to look into those treasured textiles that define Philippine identity.

Weaving Ways is the third in a series of books published by HABI The Philippine Textile Council. Intended primarily for the use of students, teachers, and researchers it is also hoped that these handy publications will serve as a resource for weavers and their apprentices as well as textile enthusiasts.
