About the Author
Engr. Jose P. Gatus, MSNSA, FGEP is a retired Career Executive Service Officer with forty-six years of service with the DENR, more particularly with the Bureau of Lands. He served the department in various capacities, starting as Survey Aude and retired as Director, practically occupying all major technical and managerial positions focused on land administration and management as he rose from the ranks. He finished is BS in Geodetic Engineering at the University of the Philippines and Masters in National Security Administration at the National Defense College of the Philippines.
He is among the founding members and officials of the integrated and Accredited Professional Organization (APO) in 1975, the Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (GEPI). As one of the GEPI Past National Presidents, his considered legacy is the creation of the GEP Academy wherein he is the Chair Emeritus. The academy is the conduit of the GEPI that caters to the continuing education of the members for the advancement of knowledge and practice of the geodetic engineering profession.
Currently, he is a regular lecturer at the GEP Academy of Geodetic Engineering Laws and Property Survey Modules for updating the knowledge of the upgraded geodetic engineers.
