Boyhood: A Long Lyric

Author: Charlie S. Veric

Set in unnamed town boarded by mountains and sea, Boyhood reconstructs as vanished time of awkening and discovery. It conveys the emotional force of a forgotten place, telling the tales in lyric fragments conceived as notes in the river and bridge, the slaughterness, the airport, the island cosmogony, the market , the neighborhood, the meeting tree, the plaza, the cemetey. All that is lost becomes sensuous in boy's voice. memory turns into a glittering work of poetry.
